Welcome to Badger Class
Welcome back to Term 4. We hope that you had a wonderful half-term break!
During this term, we will be learning about the wonderful world of plants in Science (and through our English and Guided Reading texts), as well as learning about the Viking invasion in History. For more information on this and the different subject areas, please see the topic web. We hope you find the topic web gives you a brief insight into some of the exciting activities we will be doing this term in the other areas of the curriculum.
This term, our PE sessions will be Monday (Orienteering) and Thursday (Basketball). Please ensure that your child comes to school in appropriate PE kit for an outdoor PE session on these days. Jewellery should not be worn for PE and hair should be tied back for safety.
We ask that you continue to support your child at home with reading, spellings and times table practice. These systems will work in the same way as last term. Reading books will be changed on a Friday if the reading record has been signed at least 3 times a week. We encourage you to read with your children daily as this aids with fluency and comprehension.
Important dates:
- Thursday 5th March – World Book Day
- Week commencing 9th March – SEND parent’s meetings
- Week commencing 2nd March – Assessment Week
- Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th March – Parent’s Evening
- Friday 20th March – Comic Relief (Red Nose Day)
As always, please do not hesitate to speak to any member of the team should you want to discuss anything further.
Best wishes,
Mrs Welch and the Badger Class Team
