Welcome to Deer Class
Dear Parents and carers,
Welcome to Term 4. We hope that you had a wonderful half-term break!
During this term, we will begin our revision and interventions ready for our Mock SATs. In our English lessons we will be focusing on the story Varmints by Helen Ward. In our afternoon subjects we will be learning about how to look after the Environment in Science, as well as learning about WW2 in History. For more information on this and the different subject areas, please see the topic web. We hope you find the topic web gives you a brief insight into some of the exciting activities we will be doing this term in the other areas of the curriculum.
A reminder that at end of Last Term on Parent Mail I sent out a SATs revision letter with a range of resources to support you with your child’s learning at home, which is so important for their recall, practice and general wellbeing leading up to SATs. Please get in touch if you need any support in the lead up.
This term, our PE sessions will be Monday (Handball) and Tuesday (Fitness). Please ensure that your child comes to school in appropriate PE kit for an outdoor PE session on these days. Jewellery should not be worn for PE and hair should be tied back for safety.
We ask that you continue to support your child at home with reading, spellings and times table practice. These systems will work in the same way as last term. For Year 6 these are still important short homework activities but focus will also now be on daily SATs revision on a chosen area of Maths or Grammar and Punctuation your child feels unconfident in.
