Pupil Premium at St Leonard's CE
Pupil Premium is a government grant which is given directly to the school who then look at how best to allocate the money to develop the attainment of pupils. The grant amount is derived based on the number of pupils in the school where their family is in receipt of certain benefits. It is a valued source of income which directly supports the provision of a wider-range of extra-curricular activities, teacher development and additional support for children who need it most.
At St Leonard's CE Primary School, we are committed to providing all children access to a high-quality, inclusive curriculum. Our curriculum aims to encourage opportunities to enhance Cultural Capital to give children opportunities to gain a wide-range of knowledge and acquire a range of skills. Cultural Capital is defined by Ofsted as '‘the essential knowledge that children need to prepare them for their future success’.
Pupil Premium children are provided with the same opportunities as all the other children; participating in sports teams, membership of the school council, participating in plays and performances, attending residential trips and all other aspects of school life.
We have identified the approaches we are going to use over the course of the year to enrich the learning opportunities of our pupil premium children. All of the approaches we use to support pupil premium children in school are research based methods and we hope to deliver a positive impact on children’s attainment over the next three years. Pupil premium provision is reviewed regularly during the school year which includes feedback to governors.
If you think your child may be eligible, please contact the school office.
